Vermont Makes it Special

We think our location is the perfect blend of Vermont solitude and proximity to everything the Manchester area has to offer.  The possibilities are endless for enjoying the outdoors here! In winter, there is downhill and nordic skiing, snowshoeing, ice fishing and even snowmobiling nearby.  Throughout the rest of the year you can enjoy countless hiking trails for all ability levels as well as biking, paddling, fishing, and swimming.  There is also world class shopping, numerous local country stores and farmer’s markets, historic landmarks, and variety of dining options to satisfy everyone’s tastes.  If you prefer to get takeout we have numerous sitting areas on our property to eat your meal.

So whether you are looking for an outdoor adventure, a relaxing getaway, a shop-til-you-drop weekend, or attending a local event or wedding-the Manchester area truly has it all!  Ask about our special rates if you would like to take over the whole motel so your whole family or group can come together!

Summer

The Battenkill River offers many opportunities for canoeing, kayaking, tubing and fishing. Golfing is a favorite summer sport , and mountain biking is fun, too. Take the perfect hike through the lovely Equinox Preserve. Horseback trail rides are just minutes away. Swim in the crystal clear waters of Emerald Lake, Lake Shaftsbury or Lake St. Catherine.

Bromley’s Thrill Zone, complete with Alpine Slide, has been entertaining area guests for years, as well as special events, golfing and tennis at Stratton Mountain. Special events are plentiful, including polo matches, The Vermont Summer Festival Equestrian Horse Show, Race for the Cure, car shows, craft fairs and more.

Evenings are highlighted with fine dining and exceptional summer theatre.

Autumn

Nestled between the Green Mountains and the Taconic Range, the Brittany Motel is blessed with one of the most spectacular views of Vermont foliage. Many summer activities can be continued into autumn.

Cool evening strolls are a wonderful way to end a day filled with pumpkin picking, corn mazes, apple cider, antique shows, and craft fairs.

Winter

Jack Frost changes our mountains and forests into wonderlands of snow!

The nearby slopes of Stratton, Bromley and Magic Mountain make downhill skiing a delight. Okemo, Killington and Mount Snow are just a little further away. Cross-country skiers may head to Hildene, Wild Wings, Viking or Merck Forest.

Snowshoe and snowmobile trails are plentiful in the Manchester area. You may also enjoy a horse drawn Sleigh Ride.

Spring

A time when trout season opens, with excellent fishing on the Battenkill and Mettawee Rivers, as well as Otter Creek. Fly fishing lessons are offered in the area.
